Xylon City Royale — Map Guide

By ExtractionGamer • Updated October 2026

Xylon City Royale is the first map in Planet-X built specifically for Extraction Royale, the objective-driven mode that pits players against each other in a race to secure extraction rockets and get out alive. Unlike the Treasure Rush maps, Xylon City Royale isn't about looting and banking — it's about controlling space, timing your rotations, and holding the most dangerous ground on the map when it matters most. If you're coming from Treasure Rush, the pace will feel different: the map itself is the clock, and every zone transition changes what's possible.

Zone Structure: How Xylon City Royale Works

Xylon City Royale is built around three concentric zones, each unlocking on a timer. Understanding this flow is the single most important thing you can do before you drop.

Zone 3 — The Landing Zone

Zone 3 is where everyone lands. This is the outer ring of the map, made up of the various biomes that surround the city. Because every player starts here, the opening minutes are chaotic — expect contested drops, early skirmishes, and a scramble for positioning. Zone 3 is also where you'll spend the most time gathering prizes and preparing for the push inward, so don't rush the rotation unless you're confident in your loadout.

Zone 2 — The Mid Ring

Zone 2 opens after a set time passes. Once it's live, the playable space contracts and the pressure ramps up. Zone 2 acts as the transition layer between the open biomes of Zone 3 and the dense urban core. Players that were spread out across the outer ring are now funneled toward the center, which means more frequent encounters and fewer safe routes. Use this phase to secure a key card if you haven't already — you'll need one for the final zone.

Zone 1 — The Extraction Core

Zone 1 opens later, and you will need a key card to enter. This is the endgame. All extraction rockets are located in Zone 1, which makes it the most valuable — and most dangerous — ground on the map. Once the zone opens, every surviving player is converging on the same space with the same goal. Key card holders dictate the pace here; if you don't have one, you'll need to take it from someone who does. Expect desperate fights around the entry points and rocket sites as players try to secure an extraction before the window closes.

Terrain & Biomes

Xylon City Royale is defined by its many different biomes, each with its own character, that all converge on the center of the map. The outer ring is a patchwork of distinct environments, and the terrain naturally pushes players inward as the zones progress. Because the biomes vary significantly, no single playstyle dominates the whole map — you'll need to adapt your approach as you move from the outer ring toward the urban core.

The central area is dense and built-up, a stark contrast to the more open outer biomes. Sightlines tighten considerably as you approach Zone 1, and encounters shift from mid-range skirmishes to close-quarters fights. The convergence design means that regardless of where you land in Zone 3, you're always moving toward the same contested center — so flanking routes and contested choke points become increasingly important the deeper you go.

How the Map Plays

Compared to the Treasure Rush maps, Xylon City Royale is a more objective-focused, time-pressure experience. The zone unlocks create a natural rhythm: a chaotic opening in Zone 3, a tense mid-game contraction in Zone 2, and a high-stakes endgame in Zone 1 where every squad wants the same thing. Adaptability is key — the map doesn't favor a single combat style, but it does punish players who ignore the zone timers or get caught out of position during a transition.

Strategy Tips

  • Don't overcommit in Zone 3 — everyone lands here, so early fights are high-risk. Pick your engagements carefully.

  • Track the zone timers — Zone 2 and Zone 1 openings are predictable. Start rotating before the crowd does.

  • Secure a key card early — you cannot enter Zone 1 without one. Treat it as a priority objective, not an afterthought.

  • Plan your approach to the center — all biomes converge on Zone 1, so anticipate where other squads will funnel in.

  • Control rocket sites, not just the zone — in Zone 1, holding the extraction area matters more than holding ground.

  • Watch your back during transitions — zone openings create natural ambush points where squads get caught between areas.
