Planet-X Weapon Tier List: All 6 Weapons Ranked

By PlanetXGuide • Updated September 2026

There are currently six weapons in Planet-X: Assault Rifle, Sniper, VOLT, SMG, Shockwave, and Launcher.

We've ranked them into four tiers based on overall usefulness, versatility, combat effectiveness, and how consistently useful they are across different situations.

Quick note: A lower-tier weapon isn't necessarily a bad weapon. Some weapons are simply more specialized and require the right situation or playstyle.

🟣 S Tier - Assault Rifle

Best for: All-around combat

The Assault Rifle is the most versatile weapon in Planet-X. It's effective across multiple ranges and doesn't require a highly specialized playstyle.

Why it's S Tier:

  • Excellent all-around performance

  • Reliable at multiple ranges

  • Easy to use and build around

  • Consistently useful in different situations

Bottom line: The safest all-purpose weapon and an excellent default choice.

🟣 S Tier - Sniper

Best for: Long-range combat

The Sniper is built around controlling fights from a distance. Its high damage and range make it extremely powerful when you have good positioning and clear sightlines.

Why it's S Tier:

  • Extremely strong at long range

  • High damage per shot

  • Excellent for controlling engagements

  • Rewards good positioning

Bottom line: One of the strongest weapons when you can control the distance.

🔵 A Tier - VOLT

Best for: Tactical disruption

VOLT brings something different to a fight. Rather than relying entirely on raw damage, it provides tactical utility that can create openings and disrupt opponents.

Why it's A Tier:

  • Strong tactical utility

  • Drains enemy elixir

  • Stuns the enemy

  • Can complement high-damage weapons

Bottom line: A strong choice for players who prefer tactical advantages over pure damage.

🟡 B Tier - SMG

Best for: Close-range combat

The SMG is designed for aggressive players who want to close the distance and overwhelm opponents with fast, close-range fire.

Why it's B Tier:

  • Excellent up close

  • Strong for aggressive pushes

  • Fast and effective in close quarters

  • Less effective on Planet-X's larger maps.

Bottom line: Extremely effective when you can force the fight into close range.

🟠 C Tier - Shockwave

Best for: Disruption and area control

Shockwave is a specialized weapon focused more on controlling the battlefield than dealing consistent damage.

Why it's C Tier:

  • Useful for disrupting enemies

  • Can create space

  • Strong in specific situations

  • Less reliable as a primary damage weapon

Bottom line: A useful tactical tool, but more situational than the higher-tier weapons.

🟠 C Tier - Launcher

Best for: Explosive area damage

The Launcher can be extremely effective against grouped enemies and can help control contested areas, but its slower and more specialized nature makes it less consistent.

Why it's C Tier:

  • Strong against grouped enemies

  • Excellent area damage potential

  • Can force enemies out of position

  • Less reliable in fast, close-range fights

Bottom line: Powerful when used in the right situation, but less versatile than the weapons above it.

Which Planet-X Weapon Should You Use?

For a simple answer, Assault Rifle is the best starting point if you want versatility and consistency. If you prefer long-range combat and are comfortable with positioning, Sniper is another S Tier option. We have a starter loadout guide to help you figure out what you should use first.

From there, your choice depends heavily on your playstyle:

  • VOLT for tactical utility

  • SMG for aggressive close-range fights

  • Shockwave for disruption

  • Launcher for explosive area damage

There isn't one weapon that's perfect for every situation. The best weapon for you is the one that fits how you like to play.
